1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves His children, too.

16 But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of His great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in Him and receive eternal life.

2 This truth gives them confidence that they will have eternal life, which God — Who does not lie — promised them before the world began.
