6 - Assurance of Salvation

These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

3 - Christ Paid the Penalty

For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;

4 - Salvation is not by Works

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

2 - Sin's Penalty

And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,

1 - All Have Sinned

All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him.

5 - Must Receive Christ

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

2 - Sin's Penalty

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

4 - Salvation is not by Works

He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior;
