F.I.S.H. My Identity in Christ
22 verses
remem.me (en)
In Christ, my story is rewritten: my past is redeemed by faith, my present is transformed through love, and my future is secure in hope.
At the heart of Christian identity stand the three enduring gifts: faith, hope, and love. As Paul writes,
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
{1 Corinthians 13:13}
This collection of memory verses is structured to help you embody this biblical triad, using the ancient Christian fish symbol—Ichthys—divided into four interconnected parts, each expressing a dimension of your life in Christ and the journey of salvation:
• Caudal Fin (F – Faith):
Symbolizes your redeemed past—salvation accomplished through Christ’s sacrificial death and resurrection, received by faith. This is celebrated in the communion of the blood, as “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift…to be received by faith” (Romans 3:23-25a). Faith anchors you in what God has done.
• Ventral Fin (I – Incarnation):
Points to the present reality of Christ’s incarnation—God made flesh—and our participation in His body. Lived out in the communion of the body, this dimension is expressed through mutual love and fellowship among believers: “…so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.” (Romans 12:5). Love for one another is the visible fruit of the Incarnation.
• Dorsal Fin (S – Spirituality):
Focuses on the present, ongoing transformation by the Holy Spirit. The communion of the Spirit signifies the living relationship between God and you, as “all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God” (Romans 8:14-15). Here, love is experienced as the bond between God and the believer, empowering a life of worship and obedience.
• Head (H – Hope):
Directs your gaze to the future—the resurrection and eternal life with Christ, who is the head of the Church. Anticipated in the communion of the head, this hope is anchored in Christ’s victory and promise: “He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church” (Ephesians 1:22-23). Hope shapes your destiny and perseverance.
The fish’s direction embodies the Christian journey:
From a past redeemed by faith, through a present defined by love—expressed both in fellowship with others (incarnation) and in communion with God (spirituality)—toward a future secured by hope in Christ.
This structure not only reflects the earliest Christian confession—“Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior”—but also brings to life the biblical story of salvation as a journey through time:
• Faith roots you in Christ’s finished work (past),
• Love defines your present through the Incarnation (community) and Spirituality (relationship with God),
• Hope draws you forward to Christ’s return and the resurrection (future).
May these verses guide you ever deeper into your identity in Christ—so that, rooted in faith, transformed through love, and sustained by hope, you may walk each day in the fullness of your new life in Him.

remem.me (en)
The best way to know God’s truths are to read them, remember them and meditate on them. He gave us His truths and His promises for a reason. So we could depend on Him. So we can find hope in Him. So we could have comfort knowing He is near and will take care of us. So we would know He has a plan for us. So we will be saved. There are so many reasons to know and meditate on His truths. His truths will stand forever.
