Catholic TMS A: Live the New Life (The Wheel)
The verses in Series A: Live the New Life will help you discover the importance of the foundational principles for keeping Christ in the center of your life. They can be illustrated systematically as a four-spoke wheel with a hub, inner ring, and outer rim. The hub represents Christ at the center of our lives. The inner ring represents the Sacramental Life which, like the spokes of a wheel, provides the basic means whereby Christ's power reaches our lives and flows through our life to others. The rim of the wheel represents you, the Obedient Christian, responding to Christ's reign in your life through wholehearted obedience to his revealed will. The vertical spokes represent means by which we are able to develop our relationship with Christ, The Word, and prayer. The horizontal spokes represent our relationship with believers and non-believers. These six principles correspond with the six Fundamental Tasks of Catechesis listed in the 1997 General Directory for Catechesis sections 85-86, which states that the fundamental tasks of catechesis are: Promoting Knowledge of the Faith (The Word), Liturgical Education (Sacramental Life), Moral Formation (Obedience to Christ), Teaching to Pray (Prayer), Education for Community Life (Community), and Missionary Initiation (Evangelization).
